Mother’s Day is a beautiful time to celebrate the strength, dedication, and love of the women who shape our lives. Romans 16:12 offers a powerful reflection on the hard work of faithful women, as Paul acknowledges Tryphena, Tryphosa, and Persis, praising their labor in the Lord:
"Greet Tryphena and Tryphosa, those women who work hard in the Lord. Greet my dear friend Persis, another woman who has worked very hard in the Lord."
This verse reminds us of the tireless devotion that many mothers demonstrate—not just in their families but also in their faith and communities. Motherhood is a calling filled with love, service, and perseverance. Like Tryphena and Tryphosa, many mothers labor endlessly, ensuring that their children and loved ones are nurtured with kindness and wisdom. Persis, whom Paul calls “my dear friend,” is praised for working very hard, reminding us of the extra sacrifices that some women make in service to others.
On this special day, we can take a moment to honor the mothers and mother figures who embody the spirit of these women—those who give selflessly, love unconditionally, and serve faithfully. Whether through a kind word, an act of gratitude, or a heartfelt prayer, we can lift them up and recognize their invaluable contributions.
How has a woman in your life inspired you through her faith and dedication? Let’s celebrate and appreciate them today! 💐
